Half true. Most of the work in a real product doesn't need your best model. Routing the easy jobs to a cheaper one is where the money hides.

There's a reflex I see in almost every AI product. Pick the strongest model, point everything at it, and move on. It feels safe. Best model, best output, done. Then the bill arrives and nobody can explain it.
